Job Description

The Role

Reporting to theUK/EU Financial Controller

  • To oversee and manage the company’s financial operations including accounts
  • receivable, accounts payable cash management and associated financial reporting. To manage a small
  • team and co-ordinate activities and ensure best practice across the finance administration function
  • so that transactions are accurately reported and compliant with accounting standards and company
  • policies.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the accounts receivable team to ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Oversee credit approval application process and manage commercial terms offered.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve collection rates and reduce outstanding receivables.
  • Monitor aging reports and coordinate with the internal teams to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Oversee the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate favourable terms to optimize cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for expenditure approvals. 
  • Manage daily cash flow and forecasting to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
  • Coordinate with banks and internal team for effective cash management operations.
  • Optimize cash handling processes and monitor bank transactions to detect discrepancies.
  • Oversee management of authorisation levels and ensure efficiency to minimise necessity for ad hoc payment runs.
  • Create and manage setting and reporting for targets and KPIs.
  • Analyse financial data to provide insights into company performance and suggest improvements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as needed.
  • Oversee and support internal and external audit and associated reporting/collaboration.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and compliance with relevant financial regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the efficiency of financial operations.
  • Implement improvements to enhance the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Oversee and support the expenses process and perform periodic reviews and audits to ensure compliance with policy as well as management reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and implement best practices in financial operations.
  • Collaborate internally to enhance financial systems and ensure seamless integration with other business functions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation in financial processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the financial operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and training to enhance team performance.
  • Promote a collaborative environment, encouraging communication and cooperation among team members and other departments.

Successful Applicant

  •  Qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial operations, including supervisory roles in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or similar functions.
    Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills. Previous experience with an ERP system such as Microsoft Navision or Business Central is desirable (but not essential).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
    Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
    Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
