Job Description

The Role

This is a fixed term contract (FTC) position within the Finance Technology & Transformation team, designed to support the programme as the Technology function implements a global target operating model (TOM).  It is anticipated that this will be an 18-month FTC to the end of 2023, with possibility of extension once the programme deliverables and timelines are more defined.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial models and databases for the baseline and transformed costs and cost drivers
  • Work closely with and provide financial support to the TOM and Global Technology Hub teams. 
  • Understand changes and variations in the scope and timeline of deliverables over the programme lifecycle and update financial models for the financial impact
  • Transition financial models and databases and tracking mechanisms from MS Excel to Anaplan and wherever possible extract transaction level data directly from Oracle Fusion and HFM
  • Track business case, budget, forecast and actual non-recurring project Opex and Investment costs, underpinned by detailed assumptions, and the ability to explain reasons for variances
  • Build detailed analysis to establish, evaluate and validate cost savings and benefits by type of cost 
  • Ensure that all financial data is robust and compliant in terms of financial accounting and reporting, in line with accepted accounting standards and company accounting policies
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency and robustness of the financial models and improve the integrity, timeliness and accuracy of the data presented. 
  • Build checks and controls to prevent formula errors and inconsistencies in data and analysis

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified accountant with experience of working in a large multi-national corporate environment and multi-currency consolidation
  • Advanced MS Excel skills essential
  • Experience of building reports in Anaplan is highly desirable; alternatively experience of similar database/planning tool report building experience
  • Experience of working with non-finance business and operational stakeholders, ideally with global IT or Technology functions 
  • Used to working with and building strong relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders in international businesses
  • Comfortable working with multi-currency financial consolidation
  • Good understanding of financial management and project accounting principles
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Advanced MS Excel skills to build financial models and databases with the ability to interrogate and synthesis large datasets
  • Experience of creating and building reports in Anaplan
  •  Systems thinking and continuous improvement mindset
  • Resilience and flexibility to react to changing business requirements and priorities
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills to work effectively across all levels in the organization and to present financial and non-financial information to stakeholders
