Job Description

The Role

My client is going through a period of rapid growth and finance processes and systems need to be improved to ensure that finance teams can continue to provide the business with timely and accurate data.

The requirement is for an additional resource to join a team of external consultants tasked with the re-design and implement the HFM consolidation system to ensure that it can meet the changing needs of the business. The successful applicant will cover BAU activities and support the new HFM system during implementation and after go-live, working alongside the existing HFM systems administrator and the wider finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • To update core month end HFM reports for the new chart of accounts and ensure a smooth transition from the current HFM to the new HFM environment. This will involve working with a number of different central finance teams (for example the group consolidation team, FP&A, regional analysts),
  • To be a point of contact for HFM change requests.  You will need to understand the requirement fully, assess the impact and liaise with the HFM project team and the existing  HFM system administrator to deliver these changes and ensure the central finance teams can reflect the changes in their reports.
  • To work with the HFM project team and the HFM system administrator to ensure that all defects logged before go live are resolved in the immediate post go live period. This will involve fully understanding the defect and the impact on reporting and clearly communicating with all the affected parties.
  • You should have a strong knowledge of HFM, become familiar with the group reporting requirements and be able to support the teams at the centre and in the countries on specific issues that arise. Some users in the countries will be new HFM users and may need assistance outside of the basic training provided by the project team.  Country submissions have historically been via an excel spreadsheet and these submissions are moving over to HFM data forms and there may be reporting issues where help is needed to ensure that the data is submitted for the group consolidation on time.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified/Part Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA Accountant - experience of financial reporting in a complex, global organisation

  • Extensive experience in financial consolidation systems with basic understanding of accounting principles

  • Extensive experience in managing an HFM consolidation accounting system with associated HFM SmartView report writing.

  • Experience with creating and modifying HFM dataforms and Financial Reports.

  • Experience of working with Finance Systems and Implementing System Changes

  • Knowledge of HFM process management module

  • Expert in use of HFM data forms and financial reports in HFM Portal.

  • Involvement in Change Projects

  • Experience of system controls, security, and change documentation

  • Competent in Excel (macros / visual basic etc)

  • Basic foundation in accounts preparation

  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and reporting to senior management
