Distell

Distell, South Africa’s largest wine and spirit producer, required a professional part qualified accountant to join their European Head Office in Surrey. Working in a “hands on” finance team, the role required an experienced, intelligent individual who had the capabilities to progress very quickly. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role worked very closely with the European sales team whilst also liaising with the South African Head Office. Due to its high profile nature, this position required someone with the personality and confidence to build relationships at all levels, with both finance and non-finance heads. 
The assignment was challenging as this varied position required an individual from a similar background. On a daily basis the role had a strong operational focus, combined with month end reporting and commercial analysis. As the role would assist the Financial Controller, the successful applicant could also expect to be heavily involved with controlling budgeting & forecasting as well as aiding with decision making.
